Ah yes….Florida. The Sunshine State, home of the original Walt Disney World in Orlando, home of America’s largest Cuban community…and also right smack dab in the middle of Hurricane Alley. Two of the largest and best known cities in Florida…. Miami and Ft.Lauderdale, share not only the problem with hurricanes but also the problem with hard drive data recovery problems.
Both problems can be serious but only one can be prevented…and it’s NOT hurricanes. That’s right. Every business that relies on computerized operations is going to, sooner or later, have problems with their computer hard drives and/or data recovery issues. It’s nice to have somebody in the company to handle such problems but some companies don’t.
So…in trying to be prepared for such problems (just like we try to be prepared for natural disasters like hurricanes) what are some of the problems we can anticipate and try to, at least as much as possible, prepare for?
#1 Problem:
Somebody accidently deletes a file or some data. Thankfully this problem is the most common but it’s usually one of the easiest to remedy too because most people don’t realize that when you delete data it’s not actually gone until it’s overwritten.
In other words, you can’t see it anymore but it’s still there. In a case like this the key is to not do anything (like…don’tuse the computer) that would overwrite the portion on the disk where that data was.
Often you won’t be able to find it yourself and that why you need to have some kind of Fort Lauderdale data recovery expert or a Miami data recovery expert on-file to call quickly to consult with on the problem
#2 Problem
Sometimes somebody will accidently reformat or repartition a memory drive. When they do this, the information on that drive is re-initialized. It’s not ‘vanished’…it’s just gone somewhere else. The problem is somewhat similar to Problem #1 above.
Certain kinds of data recovery software can help but you’re always better off first…not using the computer, and second…waiting until you can have a Miami data recovery expert work on the problem.
#3 Problem
Sometimes a hard driveis physically damaged. It might be routine wear-and-tear or maybe something in the operating environment that caused the issue. If you’re lucky, your drive will be covered by a warranty but in any event your data is really at serious risk this time so you need to stop using the computer.
Sometimes diagnostic software can locate the drive and diagnose the problem but the best thing to do is remove the drive and put it into another computer to see if perhaps it works. If it won’t, then you do have a problem and you need to call a hard drive data recovery expert. Often there is still much recoverable information on the disk that can be retrieved.
#4 Problem
Sometimes you suddenly discover unreadable data on your hard drive. This is a hard problem to decipher and the best thing to do is just take the memory hard drive out of the computer and send it to a Fort Lauderdale hard drive data recovery expert…or have one come to your location if that’s a possibility.
#5 Problem
Viruses and malware
Viruses and malware of various kinds can sometimes create serious operating problems that affect the memory of your computer. At the first sign of trouble you should run a full virus scan with whatever program(s) you use. If that doesn’t seem to solve the problem the best thing to do is just…..wait.
Having the patience to wait for an expert rather than tinker and tinker until you make the problem even worse is a big temptation but one that needs to be avoided. Often it will mean the difference a problem than can be quickly and inexpensively fixed vs. a problem that’s much more expensive to fix and takes a lot more time.
Of course, the best thing to do is have and observe strict back-up, scanning and maintenance procedures at all times. Most problems will give you some kind of hint before they happen. If and when you do have problems, don’t panic, activate whatever redundancies you should have and call an expert in matters of hard drive data recovery.
Just like hurricanes in Miami and Ft.Lauderdale…you can’t stop them but you can be prepared for them.
